SHARED AND ON-DEMAND TRANSPORT SOLUTIONS
At our May luncheon, we heard from self-confessed Liftonaut and Head of Growth Iain MacDougall from Liftango talk about public and private transport investment solutions.
Liftango is a Newcastle-based technology start-up company that provides shared transport technology to corporate and public transport clients.
There has been a significant change in public and private transport investment. The Liftango technology focuses on how to get the most people possible into a fleet of vehicles in the most efficient manner.
Covid-19 impacts have accelerated the adoption of on-demand technology in the public transport space. Corporates have also been encouraged to develop their own commute system stemming from a distrust of public transport as a transport alternative. Iain outlined how the public and private sector are taking up the challenge.
Since its inception in 2017, Liftango has experienced ups and downs yet the company has managed to expand its footprint throughout the world in the face of Covid related turmoil.
Iain captivated our members and guests with his presentation providing us with another example of amazing Newcastle business innovation.

We look forward to seeing you at our June luncheon to hear from local actor and comedian, Russell Cheek.
Russell has a BA Hons, The University of Sydney (German) and also studied French. After graduating from his theatre school, the Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Russell performed with companies in Italy, Germany, Holland as well as Paris and then to Sydney and the Adelaide festivals.
Russell became a core member of the great Newcastle musical-theatrical band THE CASTANET CLUB enjoying more than 10 years of national and international acclaim including ‘THE CASTANET CLUB – a movie you can dance to’.
Russell created and guest directed CIRCUS OZ’s world-touring show 2003 – 2005. He has performed in Sydney Theatre Company productions, has appeared in films YOUNG EINSTEIN and RECKLESS KELLY, and devised and directed theatre productions in Istanbul and Sydney.
Russell was a regular and popular panelist for the entire run of the ABC’s The Einstein Factor which was no doubt motivated by him winning and becoming champion of Sale of the Century in 1993. These experiences culminated in the creation of his one-man show WHO AM I…..? IN 2016 depicting the trials and tribulations of entering and winning Australia’s richest quiz show.
Join us “backstage” as we share lunch with Russell and hear stories that will uplift you, inspire you, and entertain you.
Our luncheon sponsor is THE BUSINESS CENTRE, our 2021 organisation Community award winner and we thank them for their sponsoring our June event.
